Hunter Class
Light & Heavy Benchrest

Gale McMillan started in the fiberglass stock business in 1973 by producing a benchrest stock.  Since that time rifles with McMillan fiberglass stocks have won more national championships and set more world records than all other stocks combined.  The standard Benchrest stock has a three inch wide forend and is designed to accommodated most custom actions used in benchrest today.  There is a model designed specifically for Remington 40X actions where the tang is blended to match the action.  Light and Heavy Benchrest stocks are made from the same mold, the only difference being their weight.  Benchrest stocks vary in weight from just under two pounds up to four pounds.  We can fill orders for stocks made to a specific weight within plus or minus 2 ounces.  The Hunter Class stock is identical to the standard Benchrest except that the flares on the forend have been removed to meet the 2 1/4 inch requirement.  In addition, a Hunter Class stock specifically designed for a Remington 700 or 40X is offered.  A sporter stock is generally the same as the Light Varmint stock.  The standard weight for the Light Varmint and Hunter Class is approximately 1 lb 12 oz and the Heavy Varmint is approximately 2 lb 6 oz.  Camouflage, marble colors or graphite will add 2 ounces.
